Issa Kobayashi(1763-1827), a Haiku poet, spent most of his life traveling. He frequently visited the Shimofusa resion(kanfo-plain)
including Nagareyama. His closest friend in Nagareyama was Sanzaemon Akimoto(the 5th master of Akimoto family), who was told
one of the first MIRIN(sweet sake for cooking) makers and he also ran a japanese sake brewery. Writing under the name of "SOJU",
Sanzaemon made Haiku poems and gave economic aid to Issa. (Source: Pamphlet of ISSA-SOJU Memorial Hall)
